Have you read this? 11 Tips to Avoid Fake Reviews

I found this article today and it was pretty interesting to read. I was on a site called Momseverydaydotcom and the article actually came from one of their partner site which is called MoneyTalksNewsdotcom but anyway, here is how it starts off:

People often look at product reviews when deciding whether to make a purchase or choosing between brands. It’s not that they necessarily care what a stranger thinks. Rather, a batch of reviews can offer an idea of common problems or complaints and sometimes suggest better alternatives.
The problem is fake reviews. Yes, there are people that actually spend time doing that. They often get paid to do it, either by the company they work for - often as PR interns - or through sites like Mechanical Turk, where anyone can be paid trivial sums (as little as 20 cents) to write product reviews and do other menial tasks by companies that don’t want to actually hire someone to do them.

I am interested in what you think, and look forward to comments. Thanks, Lauren

  1. Great. I have a problem with some reviews Some explain what They like about a book and never anything about it. Others give almost a page by page description that spoils it for reading. I saved these tips to make sure I do not do any ofthese things in my reviews. Thanks for posting

  2. Hi Lauren

You asked for some free cards from LAST WELSH MARTYR blog. I would be delighted to send you some but you didn't leave me your MAILING ADDRESS, which I need. If you will leave it for me in the comments box (STRICTLY PRIVATE, I PROMISE!) I will mail the cards to you immediately. Thanks & God bless you.

  3. Good info!I am one of those people who reads the reviews! Of course I had always hoped that real people who had actually purchased or tested the products wrote them. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled from now on! Thanks for sharing :-)

  4. Hey Gal! It's good to hear from you. I couldn't believe it. I had just finished publishing and was going back to edit the picture because I decided it didn't look right all the way across, and I came back to your comment! How cool! I am so glad that my post or I should say "God's Word" spoke to you and gave you encouragement. I know how it is when we face difficulties. My problem is that usually, I lean toward "friend's advice, or other means of help BEFORE I go to the Lord. I'm hoping one of these days I will remember to pray first, and THEN HE will either give me the answers I need in my spirit, or He will direct me to the RIGHT person with a Word from HIM. I'm always saying people need to "practice what they preach", well since I've been blogging and do much more research into God's Word than I used to, I have learned I need to concentrate on doing the same. I try, I just fall short more times than I would like to admit! LOL! Listen, If you need to get something off your chest, or just need someone to be a sounding board or anything, I'll get you my e-mail address. OK? I'm gonna check out that site you were talking about too! Be strong and God Bless!

  9. Thank you for the tip. I read a lot of books, therefore I read a lot of reviews :/ Now I wonder how many of them were fake reviews.
