free dogs, puppies and kittens

This message is for you.

Please don't list your dogs for free, or cats for that matter without realizing what they can be used for once they leave your hands. Don't be so ignorant and think they get always get good homes. Many do end up as bait dogs, lab animals... etc it's a cruel world out there. Please put a little more effort in to making sure that your pet doesn't have liters of unwanted puppies or kittens by getting them spayed or neutered as soon as possible. Take responsibility for the animals that you do adopt, dog or cat. They are for life. If you read the ads on Craigslist and in the newspaper everyday you can see how little value people show for the most loyal creatures around.
If you HAVE to find a new home for your pet please do everything in your power to make sure they don't end up used, hurt and or abandoned after they leave your care.
The reason people ask a small rehoming fee is for the fact that people seem to care more about an animal that they paid for although clearly not always true.
I think people should weigh all the things that could happen before they get a pet (things that may cause them to have to get rid of it later) and plan on what they can do about it in order to keep the animal with them. They don't have long lives like humans do although birds do... their depending on us to care for them all of their lives. Do your best to do the right thing for animals, please. Be a good example for your children too. They are watching and learning from you. If you aren't sure then get your kids a stuffed animal.
Thanks for listening
