This is one of those products that you really ought to have. I have to admit that when I was asked to review these silicone ice cube trays, I had no idea that they were totally cool. (no pun intended).
I'm going to share my little ice cube tray story, I mean fiasco.
I have a feeling that by now we have all seen those fancy ice cube trays. They look a bit like candy molds but they are made for ice. They come in all sorts of shapes and they are adorable but the downfall is that they make smaller than normal size ice cubes that look cute but melt right in front of your eyes. I tried those just once. It was about 30 plus years when I bought several sets for a party I was having. I was super excited and one thing I knew for sure was that everyone would be so surprised by everything and especially so when they saw my fancy little ice cubes!
Imagine my surprise when I realized that they were melting the very instant they were dropped in a glass and within 2-3 minutes they were less than half the size and a minute later, all that once was had become indistinguishable bits of ice. I was mortified! I also had very little regular sized ice on hand because those darn fancy trays made tiny fancy ice but they took up half the freezer! That's when somebody had to quickly run out to buy some bagged ice, Surprise surprise, party guests do not like nor will they ever be happy with warm drinks.
That's not going to happen with these! These ice cubes are gigantic! They easily fit in a glass but the good news is that you may need just one ice cube to chill your drink but 2 ice cubes is absolutely wonderful! Your drink is instantly chilled and because the larger cubes melt very slowly. I can assure you that this is a perfect party sized ice cube! I'm loving these trays!
