UPDATE I quit smoking and how I did it

Got good news to share.
I haven't smoked in 19 days with the help of God and the patch, I am a non smoker!!! After 40 years!
Yes I am feeling proud of myself.

UPDATE:  February 1st, 2012 will mark 4 months smoke free!
Yes I am 100% delighted to say that! I used the patch for 2 months and after that I have been on my own will power. I still have occasional cravings that just come out of nowhere but they say that's normal.
It feels good to be able to say that I a a non smoker. My house is smelling much better and my walls are cleaner too. I saw on the news that I added 6 to 10 more years on my life by quitting and for that I am thrilled!

Here is a really helpful guide with links to help someone that really wants to quit smoking. It's from the American Cancer Society. There are some terrific ideas on that site as you can imagine. There is also information on an E Quit study and how you can participate. That's what helped me most because they shipped me out the nicotine patches  Steps 1,2 and 3 for no charge and they are pricey if you buy them. They also were my support system as I went through the adjustment of becoming a non smoker.

  1. Hi Lauren! First, I am so happy for you! I quit smoking almost 7 years ago only by the Help of God, patches and Nicorette. I know God was the deliverer though. I had tried so many other times even with the gum and patches, but failed. I'm also glad that you liked the Bible Quiz. I am going to post one each week. They seem to help me learn and retain better.

    God Bless,

    PJ

  2. Thanks PJ. It was a God thing, I know it was. God has done many things for me that the credit is His. I am so amazed at what He is doing for me that which I could not do for myself.
